Graphic
Design
I have been creating and designing
for over 12 years now. My artistic eye comes from
my mother and my technical know how from both my mother
and father.
I
started painting when I was 20 years old. I learned
from trial and error along with hours of practice.
Not long after I started a business hand painting
designs on recycled horseshoes. (We were an equine
family and had to find some way of disposing of the
items) I spent hours marketing, selling and producing
these detailed hand painted recycled horseshoes. They
sold very well and I eventually hired three sales
representatives to travel through out New England
to sell my product. I went back to school and received
a certification in Small Business Management to better
grow my business. I ran my company for 4 years before
deciding to move onto other things.
Around
that time I started dabbling in photography. First
in my backyard where my passion for gardening was
in full bloom, then onto black and white abstracts.
Later I started working for the family business, a
screenprint and embroidery company. I had some knowledge
of photo editing as well as vector design programs
at that time but had no idea how vast graphic design
could be. My mom had been in the business for years
and slowly started teaching me the fine art of graphics.
I started on ruby red in separating colors and learning
gradients and textures. I learned what bleeds were
and how to effectively create graphics for screenprint
production. From there I learned newsprint and magazine
print bleeds, gradient tables, the importance of proper
type set, along with size and reduction ratios. After
my second year with our family business I realized
I had a deep passion for graphic design and took steps
toward advancing my knowledge and career.
Over the course of 2 years I attended New Horizons
Technical School in Williston where I became an advanced
user of numerous graphic programs as well as Microsoft
applications and programs. I blossomed under the knowledge
and can actually say I love what I do.
Over the course of the next several years that followed
I had the privilege of working for newspaper companies,
marketing firms, as well as small and large businesses.
I have taken the knowledge from all of these positions
and have grown in wisdom, creativity, and knowledge.
This has helped me develop into who I am today.
So, if you are looking for a graphic designer to help
you create an identity, brand yourself or your business
or to bring your business to the next level, I can
help. If you can think it, I can create it!
Below are just some of the items I have created for
other businesses.
